Isaac Sutton, widely known country resident and former Waynetown business man and postmaster died at Culver Hospital Wednesday morning at 6:20 o'clock. Mr. Sutton, 71 years of age, was the father of Mrs. Merle Remley, wife of the Montgomery County Sheriff. The deceased had been in declining health for the past six months and had been seriously ill at the hospital here for the past two weeks, suffering with pneumonia. Mr. Sutton was born near Stone Bluff in Fountain County Jan 6, 1867, the son of John and Mary Sutton. On October 29, 1892, he married Cora B. Barnett, who died October 29, 1922. After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Sutton started housekeeping in Wingate and about 40 years ago moved to Waynetown where Mr. Sutton operated a bakery and restaurant business. He also was employed for a time as a circulation solicitor for Crawfordsville Review. He resided in Waynetown until about six years ago when he moved to Crawfordsville. Mr. Sutton served as postmaster at Waynetown for nine years. He was a member of the Waynetown Knights of Pythias Lodge and for many years was active in the leadership and activities of that order. He was a member of the Christian Church at Waynetown. He is survived by one son, Paul Sutton of Danville, Ill; one daughter, Mrs. Merle Remley of this city; two granddaughters, Miss zelma Sutton of Danville and Miss Kathleen Remley who is in training at the IU Nurses' training school; two brothers, William Sutton of Danville, Ill and Burt Sutton of Relaw, Alberta, Canada, and one niece, Mrs. Harry Byers of Indianapolis. A number of other relatives also survive. Short funeral services will be held at Sheriff and Mrs. Remley's home at the mail residence, north Washington Street at 12:30 o'clock Friday afternoon. The body will then be taken to the Waynetown Christian Church where it will lie in state until 2 p.m. at which time services will be held in charge of Rev. Tremaine, the pastor, assisted by Rev. IC Overman, and Rev. Will H. Newlin. Burial will be made in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may pay respects at the deceased's late home at the sheriff's residence until Friday at noon. - kbz
